GRAPHITE
Slim Straight — KURO's origin
A slim straight silhouette that has carried KURO's DNA since the brand's founding — fitted through the waist, straight through the leg, easy to wear without losing its line. The fabric is 12.5oz selvedge denim by Ihara Textile, a mill with over a century of history. Woven on vintage shuttle looms at low tension, the weave holds its loft and builds the kind of durability unhurried weaving yields. The warp is spun from slub yarns — short fibres drawn into deliberately uneven thread — which gives the surface its dimensional shadow and character. Construction is handled by Oikawa Denim in Kesennuma, recognized for precision in heavy selvedge work. A signature sinuous topstitch — a detail that requires advanced hands — runs alongside double-stitched seams and bartack reinforcement at stress points. Fabric and process - Slub yarn — short-fibre slub yarns introduce natural variation in thickness, producing depth and shadow across the weave. - Rope dyeing — warp yarns pass through indigo baths repeatedly; the core stays white, and the fade deepens with wear. - Vintage shuttle weaving — woven slowly to preserve loft and build durability. - Selvedge detailing — carried through to the coin and back pockets. Design details - Slim straight silhouette — fitted at the waist, straight through the leg. - Serpentine topstitching — a signature detail from the artisan's hand. - Double-stitched seams — strength at every load-bearing line. - Bartack reinforcement — additional integrity at the points that wear hardest. - Selvedge coin and back pockets — vintage construction held as design emphasis. - Indigo ages with the wearer — a pair that earns its patina over time. GRAPHITE has carried KURO's DNA since day one. A piece where traditional Japanese technique and contemporary design meet — the silhouette that defines the brand.

OPTIMA
Standard — balanced staple
A wide silhouette built around a high waist and a deep rise. The waistline sits high and tightens cleanly, creating a leg-lengthening line without forcing the fit. Relaxed in proportion but clean in intent — a cut that reads as classical when worn well, and keeps its character across casual and considered styling.

HELVETICA
Standard — universal basic
HELVETICA is built on MONSTER STRETCH DENIM — a stretch denim developed from a reconsidered starting point. Most stretch denim runs at roughly 130% elongation and 60% recovery. A 100cm fabric stretches to 130cm, but relaxes only to around 112cm — the fabric loosens over time. MONSTER STRETCH reaches 160% elongation with 90%+ recovery: 100cm stretches to 160cm and relaxes back to near its original length. The principle behind it is different from the standard. Conventional stretch denim shrinks the fabric to generate stretch. MONSTER STRETCH instead weaves a high-stretch yarn under low tension — so the yarn itself carries the stretch, not the fabric. The weave stays steady; the thread does the work. The result is a denim with vintage-like handle and feel, with a true selvedge edge — unusual for stretch denim, which typically reads as "stretchy" at first look. HELVETICA reproduces the appearance of 100% cotton denim so faithfully that its stretch character is invisible until worn. Silhouette A slim tapered cut. A slightly deep rise for stability; a gentle taper runs from thigh to hem. Balanced proportions, easy to wear, carrying the structure of raw denim with the comfort of modern stretch.
